Reflections for week 4

Haven't been blogging for quite sometime...

Well, my CSP project has been too smooth sailing apparently. Like wad YM said, a good csp may not be the best LTB project, where grades are concerned because we don't really learn a lot. Instead conflicts and obstacles are what make us learn. This is quite true, I really learnt a lot from my econs project, especially after all the obstacles we faced and having to change topics three times.

Just some updates for this week. Went for Salsa with KY and ate donuts from donuts factory before that. He told me that he ordered a stalk of flower for Valentine's Day for me and asked me if it's alright that he only bought 1 instead of 99 stalks cos he didn't want me to walk around with a big stalk of flowers. Well, I'm not really a fan of flowers unlike other girls. Haha. So it doesn't matter. Actually, I would like to tell him that it doesn't matter what he gives me, I'll be glad enough that he remembered the dates of V-day and my b-dae. Think I'd better not tell him. If not, he might just not buy anything for me. Haha. Well...V-day and my B-dae are only a week apart, so he can definitely save time by celebrating both together for me. Haha. He's going to treat me for dinner during the celebration. And I jokingly told him that I will want ethg when he asked me what I like to eat. But well, this time round, I'll let him pay since it's to celebrate my B-dae and he should. But subsequently, I'll still pay for my own meals cos I don't like to be dependent on guys. Well, I'm just not like other girls. It's not as if I can't afford to pay myself. What's more, I've worked. So at least I have my own savings. Whereas he has to get money from his parents, which isn't exactly very nice.

Much as I like to stay back for Salsa night, I can't because I had to rush home to do my memo assignment for comms:( And I have LTB makeup lesson the next day. I had wanted to present, but the three guys in my group want to present, so I have no choice. I've done quite a lot in coordinating for this group. I would cry if I can't get an A just because I didn't get the opportunity to present in front of prof. Therefore, I don't really like the system here. It could interactive and I definitely learnt a lot in class. However, such a class participation, especially for LTB, calls for much more hypocriticism that I have hoped for. It definitely does not reflect your true leadership skills and your ability to lead. Leadership is definitely not something that you can prove through your 5 minutes of presentation in front of the prof. Leadership is more about your agreeableness, your ability to work well with people, your ability to listen and give feedback, your ability to pick what's good and eliminate the bad. Leadership is not merely about dominating the discussion, but about giving your subordinates opportunity to voice their opinions. They may have good suggestions, which would be lost should they not be given the opportunities to raise them during discussions.

Today, I applied for the BSM to Russia. Although it cost a bomb and probably half of my savings, I would still want to go. First, it adds to my resume and second, I haven't been overseas apart from M'sia. I would love the opportunity to go overseas and widen my horizon. I'd probably just work to earn back the money. But yes, I'm definitely going.

CNY is coming soon. I should start my spring cleaning soon. My room is in a mess, more like a store room than a study room.
